The 1974–75 season was a time of change for Panathinaikos as the hugely popular and successful Ferenc Puskas resigned as coach. He was replaced by Yugoslav Stjepan Bobek, who returned to the club after successes in the 1960s.
It wasn't a memorable season with a fifth-place finish in the league and a cup final defeat to arch-rivals Olympiacos, but legendary striker Antonis Antoniadis finished as the league's top scorer with 20 goals - the fifth time he has won this award in six seasons.
Antoniadis was one of the three legends of the club, along with Mimis Domazos and Kostas Eleftherakis, who stood out for Panathinaikos during this era.
